Carlton Park II 7 v Ipswich Ladies V 1

Park started the game confidently immediately putting pressure on the Ipswich team and it was only a matter of minutes before Tracey got the ball in the middle and ran her way past two defenders before finishing off with a great strike from the top of the ‘D’. Park continued the pressure and it wasn’t long before we had scored another goal. Ipswich did not have a bad team and Park’s midfield and defence were forced to defend a few breaks from the Ipswich attack but quickly took these under control and gained possession of the ball back. A short corner before half time was easily converted by another great strike from Tracey despite being slightly less mobile than usual after pulling a muscle in her first run of the game. Just before half time Park lost concentration and let Ipswich put more pressure on the defence resulting in two short corners against us. These were well defended but shortly after another Ipswich attack resulted in a goal against us.

After half time, Park continues to put pressure on the Ipswich side and there was some good movement between the midfield and forwards who were finding space. Unfortunately a few chances were missed as well as some goals being converted. Any possession that Ipswich had was short lived due to some great work in defence by Becky, Sally and Bridget who let very little get passed them giving Evie in goal very little to do. The final score was 7 – 1.
